Public beta
DockFix 5.0 is here to test.
Every part of DockFix has been rewritten from the ground up, with not one line of the old code left in place. It is faster, lighter, far more stable, and it is built around widgets, so the dock can now hold a great deal more than app icons. All the customisation you already have and love, on a dock that finally looks and behaves like it came with the Mac.
Version 5.0.0 beta, for macOS 15.0 or later.
Free if you already own DockFix.

What changed.
- All of it
- A new engine underneath, an all new interface on top, and a new way of building everything that sits in the dock. Every part of the app was written again from a blank page.
- Built around widgets
- Everything in the dock is now a widget, so everything in it can be sized, configured and moved the same way. A clock with five faces, folders, files, macros, website shortcuts, the Trash with a live peek at what is in it, and a zone for running apps. Useful information and quick controls directly in the dock itself.
- Performance
- Ultra fast and light. < 1% CPU usage on average.
- Reliability
- The problems that made the old version hard to live with came from foundations laid for a far smaller app. Those foundations are gone, and with them the stutters, the misplaced minimise animations and the icons that arrived a moment late.
- A dock that looks like Apple built it
- Same magnification effect, true liquid glass, minimise animations that travel toward the right edge of the screen, icons that appear the moment an app opens.
- Everything you already customize
- Colours, opacity, animations, custom app icons, folders, website shortcuts, presets, community docks. All of it is here, and there is more of it than before.
- Window previews
- Hover an app to see its open windows, live, and go straight to the one you want. Our most requested feature.
- Updates in the app
- Settings has a Stable and a Beta channel. Leave it on Beta and every new build reaches you on its own, with nothing to download by hand again.
Before you install it.
- It is a beta
- Some of it is rough, and some of it will break. That is what this is for. Tell us in Discord and it gets fixed quickly.
- If you already own DockFix
- It is free. Your licence carries over, and there is nothing to move or reactivate.
- Requirements
- macOS 15.0 or later.
A note from the founder
We stopped shipping updates earlier this year because the version you have could not be repaired. It was slower than the system Dock, it did not feel native, and it was full of issues we kept trading against one another with every release. I would rather write that plainly than let this page imply otherwise.
This is the app rebuilt from nothing underneath it. It took months, and the version you own stayed exactly as it was throughout them, which I am sorry for. It is ready enough that I would rather you had it now than in a few weeks, and rough enough that I would like to hear what you find.

The longer version of this, and why the rewrite happened at all, is in The New DockFix.
